Sources Say Kim Kardashian Is Preparing To Divorce Kanye West
Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West headed for divorce? Rumors are mounting that say yes
Sometimes it’s hard to believe that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been married for less than a decade. In the seven years since the two tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Italy, they’ve had four children, seen their Keeping Up With the Kardashians reality show come to an end, watched Kylie, the youngest Jenner sister, rise to astronomical fame and wealth, and become embroiled in politics, with Kim advocating for prison reform, and Kanye launching an unsuccessful bid to run for president.

Now, though, it seems like it could all be coming to an end. No one who has followed the Kardashian/Jenner family can deny that things have seemed volatile for quite some time, especially in the last year. And now, rumors are building that say Kimye have decided to split.

Page Six was the first to report on the rumors on Tuesday, saying a source had told them Kardashian and West were in “settlement talks” and that “divorce is imminent.” Today, People magazine published an interview with their own source who is close to the couple, who confirmed that Kardashian has hired celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser and the couple is working on reaching a private settlement before filing.
“He knows that she’s done. She has had enough, and she told him that she wants some space to figure out her future,” People’s source said, adding that neither Kardashian nor West knows exactly when a divorce filing is going to happen. “He’s okay. He’s sad, but okay. He knows the inevitable will happen, and he knows that it’s coming soon.”
The source also said that Kardashian will likely be the one to actually file for divorce, and that “it will happen eventually, but she’s waffling.”
These rumors come after things between the couple seemed to come to a head over the summer. While on the campaign trail for his presidential bid, West revealed private family business on Twitter and during rallies — like when he told an audience that he and Kardashian had considered an abortion when they learned they were pregnant. In July, he tweeted that he had been trying to get a divorce since 2018, but that the Kardashian/Jenner family tried to control him (he called Momager Kris Jenner “Kris Jong Un”) and that they were trying to commit him for psychiatric treatment.
Amid it all, Kardashian posted to social media with a lengthy statement about West’s bipolar diagnosis, and asked fans for “compassion.”
“Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” she wrote at the time.
