OMG, You Can Book A Stay On The Original 'Spice World' Bus
The pictures of the new and improved Spice World bus will make you want to rent it ASAP
Get ready to spice up your social life by planning the most amazing vacation ever. Because you can absolutely book the real Spice Bus from Spice World for a weekend getaway through Airbnb. Yes. Please.
The renovated, original double-decker Spice Bus has been updated to suit your 2019 needs even if you’re a ’90s girl at heart. The zebra-print rug and Union Jack movie theater seats add the perfect pop of, dare we say, spice to the clean, neutral decor of the bus.
The bus is decked out in gorgeous vintage decor, ’90s magazines to flip through while your nails dry, CDs (remember those?), and everything else you need for a weekend of Spice Girls Glory with a girlfriend or two.
The outside of the bus looks exactly as it did in the Spice World movie, with its iconic Union Jack-painted exterior.
And, come on, the stay wouldn’t be complete without this neon nod to “Girl Power!”
Oh, hell yes, that’s a basket full of hair scrunchies to sustain our nostalgia-loving hearts and help us enjoy our weekend in true ’90s style.
In a press release, the Airbnb host, Suzanne Godley, says she was destined to work with her boss on the renovation of this bus. “We’ve worked hard over the past few months to turn the bus into a home, in keeping with its legacy, and I’m so excited to open it up to the public with the support of Airbnb,” she says. “Being part of this project has been like a dream come true and I can’t wait to meet other Spice Girls fans through this experience.”
The amazing thing about Airbnb is that you have endless options to stay in places you normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to vacation in. Like double-decker buses from popular childhood movies, for instance.
Fun fact: ever since the debut of Spice World, the bus has been on permanent display at the Island Harbour Marina in the Isle of Wight. In the movie, the bus featured personal space available for Scary, Baby, Posh, Sporty, and Ginger, respectively. Now it can be home to you and your friends for a perfectly cozy weekend that truly honors those formative years we all spent lip-synching to songs that were way too old for us (“2 Become 1” anyone?) and figuring out which one of the Spice Girls best aligned with our personalities.
The bus-come-Airbnb-listing will be parked at Wembley Park’s Market Square (yes, this entire stay means you’ve got to get your Spice Girls-loving butt to London, but we can all probably agree this bus alone is worth it), which will be hosting free outdoor Spice World screenings June 13th-15th.
As of May 22nd at 8 a.m. BST, fans everywhere will be able to book the bus for an official stay at a rate of about $129 a night.
