So many people are asking Khloe Kardashian to stop hawking dangerous detox teas

Khloe Kardashian is somehow still promoting meal replacement detox teas on her Instagram, which are non-FDA approved and come with a host of very unpleasant and potentially dangerous side effects. Many, many people are flooding Kardashian’s Instagram to ask her to please stop hawking these products, particularly to her young, die-hard fans.

Quick rundown of Flat Tummy Co., the company that Kardashian has partnered with. They promise quick weight loss but that’s only because the tea you’re drinking is going to make you go to the bathroom…a lot. So basically it’s a form of a laxative that’s also packed with way too many vitamins, which can be dangerous for the kidneys.

And yet, despite a whole lot of backlash, Kardashian keeps shilling for the company. In her most recent Instagram ad, she posted a picture of herself holding a Flat Tummy shake, alongside the caption: “Ok you guys… I’ve been putting in work, adding in @flattummyco meal replacement shakes and I’m seriously feeling so good. My energy is up, my cravings are controlled and I actually feel like I’m a total tummy knockout.”

Instagram users – many of whom are fans of the Kardashians – wrote comment after comment, begging the reality star to stop trying to sell this unhealthy product and to own up to how dangerous it really is.

Nobody has taken on Khloe Kardashian and her laxative teas quite like Jameela Jamil, star of The Good Place and the fierce, outspoken social activist we all need right now. She’s called out the reality star a number of times for irresponsibly hawking these products.

On one of Kardashian’s sponsored posts, Jamil wrote: “If you’re too irresponsible to: a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product…And b) tell them the side effects of this NON-FDA approved product, that most doctors are saying aren’t healthy […] then I guess I have to.”

She’s also taken on Kim Kardashian for partnering with Flat Tummy, as well. “No. Fuck off. No,” Jamil tweeted, in response to one of Kardashians sponsored posts. “You terrible and toxic influence on young girls. I admire their mother’s branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to.”

Basically, the moral of this story is that the Kardashians have so, so much money and can probably partner with literally any company they want. The fact that they keep choosing to put their platform behind a dangerous and unhealthy meal replacement company is just beyond incomprehensible.
