Chrissy Teigen Knows How To Hold Her Own Baby, But Thanks Internet
Chrissy Teigen takes on concern trolls who try to tell her how to hold her baby
When it comes to motherhood, Chrissy Teigen keeps it real. Whether she’s talking about the joys of using a postpartum squirt bottle or how breastfeeding can sometimes make you feel like you’re a cow, her tweets are ones that moms can read while nodding their messy buns and thinking, “Yes, girl, me too, exactly.”
With a busy career, the amazing John Legend as her husband, and baby Luna at home, Teigen has no time for mommy shamers. This is a fact she’s made abundantly clear time and time again. But the internet cannot stop concern trolling moms. The topic this time? Whether Teigen was holding her baby the right way while walking out of a restaurant. You really can’t make this crap up.
It all started when a random internet troll had the gall to tweet at Queen Chrissy that she was holding six-month-old Luna in a way that was dangerous in a photo taken by the paparazzi.
“This is not how a baby is held!!!!” Who the hell are you @uVuyoh, some type of baby holding expert? The baby’s not being dangled by one limb or being held by the scruff of her neck like a lion pup. Simmer down and mind your own business, she’s got this.
Teigen’s known for her frequent twitter engagement, but usually she’s weighing in with playful banter about the best blender, or gossiping about A-list celeb breakups like the rest of us, not having to defend her parenting skills. Still, she shut this shit down admirably.
For most of us, getting a response from Chrissy Teigen, even in the form of a sick burn like that one, would be enough to make us retire our keyboards forever. But @uVuyoh is a special breed of internet troll, because she wasn’t done. But Teigen was over it.
It’s hard enough for the average person trying to juggle an infant from a crowded restaurant into a car. Teigen does it while be swarmed with flashing lights and paparazzi (or “pap,” as this person calls them) angling for a picture of her and her family. She doesn’t need anyone’s judgment, what she needs is for everyone to back off.
Nailed it. With a single tweet, Teigen perfectly sums up why all moms deserve to have their parenting decisions respected. Everyone has single moments that when frozen and examined from the right angle perhaps could make us look like less than perfect parents. But parenting isn’t done in single moments in time, it’s an evolving, ongoing process and we’re all doing the best we can. Teigen gets that, and she’s on a mission to make sure everyone else gets it too.
Absolutely shocked no concern trolls showed up for this one yet…
Relax, internet. We all know how to hold our kids. We don’t need a tutorial.
