Bindi Irwin On Breastfeeding: ‘Everybody Has A Different Journey’
Bindi Irwin’s breastfeeding her baby girl but says it’s important to support all moms on their “journey”
Bindi Irwin has been very open about life as a new momma to her new baby girl and after a new interview, that now includes her thoughts on breastfeeding — and why she’s supportive of all moms no matter how they choose to feed their infant.
Irwin tells People of her breastfeeding experience, “It’s a learning curve. You want to make sure your baby is full, and you’re learning as a new mom as well. It was the most exciting moment when she figured out how to latch properly.”
“It’s really, really amazing to be able to have that closeness,” she says, in regard to breastfeeding. “This little bond that you have with them that is just extraordinary.”
Irwin and husband Chandler Powell welcomed their ridiculously cute daughter Grace Warrior back in March and the pair have clearly been feeling the new baby bliss, sharing photos of all of Grace’s firsts living at the family’s beloved home, the Australia Zoo. But when it comes to how another mother does things? Irwin says it’s all about support.
“It’s so nice to have so many options now,” she says. “I think that in this day and age, it’s so important as a mother to encourage other moms. Everybody has a different journey when it comes to feeding their baby and it’s so important to be supportive of everybody.”
Because of course the daughter of beloved late conservationist Steve Irwin has only encouragement and support for fellow mommas. You love to see it.
“As you become a mom you enter this club and it’s unlike anything else in the world and everybody has different advice and thoughts,” she shares. “I think that as anything else, it’s just about supporting each other and being encouraging with one another because everybody has a different journey when it comes to raising their baby, especially with feeding.”
Amen to that.
