OMG, There's A 'Friends' LEGO Set And Every Single Detail Is Spot-On
‘Friends’ may have gone off the air in 2004, but it lives on in this amazing LEGO set
With how often it’s on TV (and how often we all binge-watch it on Netflix), it’s hard to believe that Friends has been off the air for 15 years. Or that it originally aired for the first time 25 years ago. Crazy, right? Well thankfully, the good people of LEGO aren’t over Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Joey, and Chandler either — because they’ve come out with one amazing homage to the show.
Truly, is there a more perfect LEGO set than the Central Perk LEGO set? The details are incredible.
It’s got the iconic couch! The logo-painted window! The double doors! AND EVEN GUNTHER!
The set was selected by Lego’s panel back in February. The entire set consists of 1070 pieces altogether (15 of which are coffee cups).
Phoebe’s guitar, Rachel’s coffee mug, the “Reserved” sign on the coffee table — it’s almost too perfect. Just kidding, when it comes to Friends memorabilia, there’s no such thing.
If you listen closely, you can almost hear the soft, tone-deaf refrains of “Smelly Cat” strumming from the guitar.
The LEGO site says each piece is easily moveable — especially the sitting area so you can have “more room to play.” Phoebe’s stage is on display, as well as Gunther’s work station where he can stand and pine away for Rachel until his heart’s content.
The set will be available in September, and not only are each of the individual characters included — they all come with their own accessories with which you can replay the most hilarious scenes.
Here’s Rachel, in her bet mid-’90s Central Perk attire.
And Joey with pizza, because, well, of course. How you doin’?
Chandler, with his “transponster” briefcase (if you understand that reference, you immediately get promoted to the Lighting Round).
Phoebe Buffay, complete with her guitar — all that’s missing is a massage table and one of those creepy mannequin portraits she loves so much.
Naturally, Moncia’s got a cupcake in her hand — is it chocolate or Mocklate? Who can tell?
Okay, honestly, just hang this LEGO figurine up in the Louvre because there has never been such a striking resemblance between an actual human (Ross/David Schwimmer) and a LEGO person.
Friends is having quite a moment, given the fact that in addition to these LEGOs, there’s a whole Pottery Barn line dedicated to the show — and it’s freaking adorable. (Yes, there’s an apothecary table. They’re not rookies over at PB.)
This LEGO set is a great toy is the ideal Friends gift for family and friends who are big fans of the show — so, basically everyone.
Most importantly, the LEGOs have Matthew Perry’s seal of approval, and really, what more do we need?
