Single Guy Recreates Twin Sister's Family Pics -- With A Cat

Gordy Yates is admittedly horrible at giving gifts. He’s a 28-year-old single guy living in Taiwan, with a twin sister back in the states. His twin sister, however, is an awesome gift giver, and this year for their 28th birthday Gordy decided to do something special for her to make up for all those years of being a flaky gift-giver.

Yates explains on his blog, “I’m the worst brother because I never get her anything for her birthday. Generally, I don’t get someone a birthday present if they live far away, so I usually don’t get her ANYTHING even though she always gets me something.” This year, he decided to change all that.

Knowing his twin sister Meredith is very into social media, Gordy decided to comb her social media accounts and recreate 28 of her pictures for the 28 years they are celebrating. There’s only one problem — they live wildly different lives. She’s married with a small child, he’s a single guy living the single guy life overseas. Naturally, he decided the best way to recreate her family photos was by subbing her baby for a cat.

Yates told Babble since he didn’t have any kids or pets, he had to ask around to borrow a cat: “Reflecting on the experience, Yates sarcastically comments, ‘which wasn’t weird at all since I’m new to the area and am just getting to know people.'” He just borrowed a random stranger’s cat.
