We don’t know how many times racists have to be caught on video before they realize that when they are out in the world being racist, people who are better than they are are going to record that racism and blast their racist behinds out to the entire internet. Sadly, we have to add one more incident to the pile after a horrible woman in Canada was taped demanding that her son be seen by a white doctor at a walk-in clinic in Toronto.
During the 4-minute video, the woman (who has not been identified, so we’re going to call her Bitchy McFuckface for the rest of this post) makes a scene in the clinic’s waiting room demanding that her son — who is having chest pains — be treated by a white doctor “who doesn’t have brown teeth and speaks English.” McFuckface says she needs to see a white doctor (no brown teeth, speaks English, she stipulates over and over again) because “I saw a doctor that was not white that did not help my kid.” She also says that she knows of a child who saw a “brown” doctor, and that child had to have her arm amputated. Well! Case closed, ladies and gentlemen. Sounds like a perfectly idiotic reason for an idiotic point of view.
The other people in the waiting room offer her extremely reasonable suggestions, like “Why don’t you go to the hospital?” No one offers her a quiet room somewhere so that she can go fuck herself, which makes them much better people than I am. In fact, most of the people in the video appear to be dumbfounded. As Hitesh Bhardwaj, who shot the video, said to Canadian Television, seeing her speak that way “so openly, without any fear in front of so many people, without even fearing that someone can report her, it was really shocking.”
And, we should add, it is heartbreaking and infuriating to watch her have her racist temper tantrum in front of the children in that waiting room, many of whom were of color. God bless those parents.
Yes, as Bhardwaj pointed out, Bitchy McFuckface had no shame whatsoever about parading up and down the waiting room yelling about how she wants a white doctor. She doesn’t lower her voice, she doesn’t even blush. She feels entitled to have this point of view, to subject other people to it, and to have her demands met. And that is scary. It’s not that racism is more prevalent these days because it’s not — it has always been there — but racists have gotten a lot bolder since people expressing similar points of view have gone mainstream. And that is why we need more and more people to be as brave as the young woman who finally confronts McFuckface towards the end of the video.
“Your child clearly has more issues with you being his mother than him needing to see a doctor. You are extremely rude and racist,” says the unidentified woman, who we will call Awesome Strongson. McFuckface then has the ovaries to say to Strongson and Bhardwaj, who has joined them, “Why are you yelling at me?!”
She also tells the two that they are “attacking” her “because I’m white.”
But wait, there’s more. We nearly forgot to mention that at one point she says, “Being white in this country, I should just shoot myself.”
We have to assume that McFuckface was raised by racist wolves who had no history textbooks and is not used to being around other people who can understand her when she speaks. Or maybe she’s just vile.
Regardless, hopefully she has read every comment posted anywhere on this video and feels thoroughly ashamed of herself. Unfortunately, she might feel just fine.
