Starbucks Announces A New Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew Drink
Starbucks is giving us All Of The Pumpkin options earlier than ever this year
If you’re like me, you’re slowly busting out your fall-themed decor — a pumpkin-scented candle here, a witch hat there, an industrial-sized bowl of candy corn adorning your bedside table. As with all things fall, you know it’s just a matter of time for Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spiced Lattes to be making a comeback to their menus. But if the heat of the summer means you’re not feeling the latte quite yet, here’s some good news: The coffee chain just announced a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and it’s available tomorrow.
By now, you’ve probably heard in addition to the PSL (which is making its way to their menu earlier than ever this year), Starbucks is also floating a Salted Caramel Mocha on it’s menu. Now, with the announcement of their cold brew option, it’s a trifecta of autumn that’s about to get in our bellies, stat. According to a press release, the new cold brew cocoa is basically dessert in a cup. “The delicious fall beverage is made with Starbucks® Cold Brew, vanilla, and finished with a pumpkin cream cold foam – made with real pumpkin – and a dusting of pumpkin spice topping,” they write.
But if you want to try the new menu item, don’t wait — it’s only available in stores while supplies last.
The Seattle-based coffee giant has officially decided Aug. 27 is the new “first day of fall,” re-releasing all of its fall drinks and formally introducing the world to their new Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. According to a statement given to People, the creators put a lot of time and tasting into the newest pumpkin-flavored family member. “After trying 10 variations of the beverage, the Starbucks R&D team settled on a recipe that starts with Starbucks Cold Brew and vanilla, topped with pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice topping.”
If even the earlier dates and new menu item aren’t enough to quench your pumpkin enthusiasm, Starbucks also announced earlier this year a line of Pumpkin Spice-inspired grocery store items like creamers, Pumpkin Spice K-Cups, ground coffee, instant lattes, ready-to-drink bottles, and cookie straws, which are already available to customers so you can get your pumpkin on any time of year.
The original PSL has been on menus for 16 years now, and according to the release, has been ordered more than 424 million times. Since the release of their cold press options, 50 percent of beverage orders are now coming in cold form, which makes the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew a no-brainer.
All of the new PSL products range in price from $2.93 to $12.99, including other fan-favorites like the Salted Caramel Mocha and the Pumpkin Scone. Obviously, this isn’t as cheap as brewing your own coffee and adding one of their creamers to the mix, but it’s fall — we survived summer, the kids are finally back in school, and sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself to a little pumpkin love.
