These PJs (Yes, PJs) Are Actually Making Bedtime With My 1-Year-Old Easier

As any mama will tell you, sleep is a precious commodity. If a pair of adorable pajamas might score my little guy (and thus me) some extra winks, I’m all in. Insert Little Sleepies, a PJ company founded by a fellow mom.
Quick backstory: I’m a traveler by nature and profession. For my son’s first birthday, instead of throwing him a party, we went to Costa Rica for a month. It was the most incredible trip. And then we returned to the East Coast and began to readjust him to EST. While I didn’t anticipate the two-hour time difference turning our life upside down upon arriving home, I did expect a few nights of him not necessarily being in the mood to snooze even though it was bedtime. That’s exactly what happened.
So I figured the first few nights back from the big trip would really put Little Sleepies’ best-selling ‘Zippy’ pajamas to the test.
Our bedtime routine isn’t stringent, but it typically begins with a nice warm bath. While he’s splashing around, I sing a little song about a duck that sleeps through the night to set the tone for snoozy time. The toughest part of his bedtime routine for us is the post-bath getting him into a diaper and pajamas.
Surprisingly, the Zippy PJs really took the struggle out of that process thanks to the brand’s super soft proprietary bamboo fabric, Lunaluxe™, that slipped right on. The two-way zips also made getting dressed for bed easier — as well as that morning diaper change, by the way. And thoughtful details like roll-down cuffs (to protect little bubs from scratching themselves) and foldover feet that convert the PJs from a footless romper to a footed sleeper further sweetened the dreamy deal.
From the first try, Miles didn’t protest at all. On the contrary, he seemed comfy, cozy, and more ready for bedtime. Was it the snuggly jam-jams? It was the only part of the equation we’d changed, so I have to say yes!
He hugged me, did his pre-bed feed, and lulled off to dreamland without protest — a major win any evening, but even more so after a month of traveling. He also slept through the night peacefully and didn’t make a peep until the morning. And it wasn’t a fluke. The PJs worked like magic the next few nights and continue to be our good-luck sleep charm weeks later. Obviously, from a functional perspective, these pajamas get a gold star in my bedtime book. And as a bonus, he looked especially stinkin’ cute in the Blue Rainbows print (more on those prints down below!).
And beyond all that, Little Sleepies is a really good value. The Zippy costs $32. Not cheap, but very reasonable IMO for one-piece jammies made to last. The generous sizing and unique design fits three times longer than the average sleeper, meaning my little guy won’t outgrow his favorite jammies for quite a while. And since the soft and snugly bamboo viscose is also really durable and washes well, I know we’ll get really good use out of them.
The patterns, which range from breakfast foods to Disney characters to limited-edition holiday prints, are so cute, too. I also really love that the brand makes matching sleepwear for older siblings and adults because I’m very much a PJ person. And also what mama doesn’t want a sweet matching pajama photo with her kiddos?
