Naked Mark Ruffalo Wants Us To Vote, And Whatever You Say Sir
We’re here for you, Mr. Ruffalo
There are some A-list celebs sending a message about the importance of voting in the upcoming November election. While celebs speaking up about our civic duty isn’t a novel idea, the fact that they are doing it sans clothes is. And if you’ve seen your share of naked celebrities and think, “Nah, I’ll just skip this,” let me make one thing very clear — Mark Ruffalo is involved.
Stars like Sarah Silverman, Tiffany Haddish (who is naked in her car because why not?), Chris Rock, Chelsea Handler, Naomi Campbell, Josh Gad (who quips “I know that’s literally the least sexy thing a completely naked person say, but …,”), and others are stripping down to the buff for a naked ballot PSA to encourage voters to follow vote-by-mail instructions — and by “others,” I mean none other than super-hottie, hairy-chested, 13 Going On 30 Mark Ruffalo.
The PSA is meant to warn people about “naked” ballots — that means when your voter card isn’t properly filled out or placed in the right number of envelopes (depending on where you live ) — because those don’t get counted. Let’s be clear — we need every single vote to count in this election.
“I know what you’re thinking,” Ruffalo says in the video. “You’re thinking, ‘Ruffalo, put your clothes on.'” No. No, that’s not the first thing that comes to mind. I can definitely think of a few other things that come to mind first.
“Don’t sit on [your ballots],” the father-of-three continues, standing shirtless and looking like the complete boss he is.
The PSA was put together by an organization called RepresentUs that’s trying to raise awareness about voting from home this election cycle — something that’s been completely standard by many for their entire voting lives but is now being called into question by the Trump administration as something corrupt.
All the celebs’ messages are worth listening to because they talk about the importance of following directions and thoroughly understanding your state’s protocols to vote. None of this should feel overwhelming or difficult but it is important to understand so that every vote is counted. And if Mark Ruffalo doesn’t float your boat, there are several other nude-y celebs to ogle.
“This is not a partisan issue; it affects all people planning to vote by mail,” RepresentUS co-founder and CEO Josh Silver said in a statement to The Hill. “We’re grateful to this committed and talented group for making an eye-catching video so that everyone understands what they need to do to ensure their vote is counted.”
Also, because voting is open in most states now, it’s critical to get your paperwork in the system early because this is 2020 and who knows what will transpire in the next several weeks.
“Get those things out ASAP!” Ruffalo concludes. Wait, Mark. Don’t go. I’m not totally convinced. Please keep talking.
