Hilary Duff Shares 'Extremely Personal' Video Of Her Daughter's Birth
Hilary Duff shared sweet footage of her first moments holding her new baby girl
Hilary Duff gave birth to her sweet baby girl Banks last October, and ever since, she’s delighted fans with near-daily photos of the adorable little one. Now, she’s getting a little more (ok, a lot more) intimate by sharing footage of the first moments after Banks was born — and it’s beyond touching.
“I’ve been wondering for a long time if I would ever share this video as it is extremely personal..,” she writes.
Duff, who had Banks in a water birth at home, went on to gush about her first embrace with the infant: “..it was so absolutely lovely and rewarding(and shocking) that after giving birth to my baby girl we hugged …for the first time, In my mind I like to believe that she was saying good job mom. Go team go. We did it. Together.”
But the mom of two (she also has seven-year-old son Luca) wasn’t done there. She also praised partner Matthew Koma as well as her mom, sister, and “birth angels” for their support during the birth.
“Matt provided such a safe calm strength, my mommy and sissy were there to cheer me on, and of course my birth angels to make sure all was well and big brother (downstairs deep in legos). I cannot believe this day was only 5 months ago!! It seems like B has been here with us all along. The time is already going so fast..she tried avocado yesterday! Anyway… feeling blessed for this full hectic life and all the people in it. Happy 5 months Banks (oh and thanks for quitting colic) that was a doozy,” she concludes.
This completely sweet moment was amazing to see, but ever since Banks came into the world, we’ve gotten plenty of glimpses of her as she grows. She’s a complete doll.
Duff recently had Banks pose with her cousin, sister Haylie’s new baby girl Lulu. It’s about as totally precious as you’d expect.
Pretty much every day is another chance for Duff to remind us that Banks is basically the cutest in the world.
And it’s not just the dolled up moments that we see — Duff has also been very open about Banks’ colic and sleep struggles.
She’s all of us just trying to get through those tough newborn months.
But judging by more recent (and very smily) photos, the five-month-old is hopefully moving on to other fun milestones that will keep Duff awake — like teething and sleep regression. Never a dull moment — and we love that Duff keeps us updated on all of it.
