This 'Families That Rock' Portfolio Is Simply Gorgeous
Harper’s Bazaar’s portraits of Kanye West, Christina Aguilera and Lionel Richie with their kids will melt your heart
Seeing gorgeous celebrities with their adorable babies is something you can’t ever get tired of. And that’s why the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar is a must-see.
The magazine features a spread called Bazaar Icons, and the theme for 2018 is “The First Families of Music.” That means some of music’s biggest names posed with those nearest and dearest to their hearts — in many cases, their kids — and the result is some incredibly touching photos.
Take this shot of Kanye West, for example. However you feel about the controversial rapper (or his baffling political stances), this shot of him holding his gorgeous kids — son, Saint West, and daughter, North West — draped over his shoulders better make you audibly say “aww.” He tells the mag, “I hope my children never lose their confidence to society.”

Seriously, how cute are those babies? And Saint looks just like his dad. Hearts everywhere are melting.
The same goes for the portrait of Christina Aguilera, who posed with her son, Max Liron Bratman, and her daughter, Summer Rain Rutler.

Erykah Badu looked just as gorgeous with her sweet family, daughters Puma and Mars Merkaba.

In some cases, the families included grown-up kids, like this shot of Lionel and Nicole Richie. But the result is just as sweet. There’s clearly nothing but family love and support here.

Same goes for the shot of Bruce and Jessica Springsteen, completely looking like the successful, iconic family that they are.

Several of the icons also said a few words about their kids and what they wish for them.
“I want my children to use their gifts in order to do service for others. That is, to make sure that their gifts are serving something bigger than themselves. And to do what I say,” Badu said.
Lionel Richie added, “I wish for my kids to discover who they are and explore their passions to the fullest.”
The Harper’s Bazaar project also came with a video, which included even more iconic music stars, including Paris Jackson, Mariah Carey and her kids, and Steven and Liv Tyler.
Not only is this an amazing tribute to some groundbreaking musicians, but it’s a sweet reminder of the importance of family, and we couldn’t love it more.
