Celebs Ditched Emmys Fashion This Year And Showed Up In Their PJs
Forget full glam — this year’s socially distanced Emmys ceremony was all about being comfy and cozy for these stars
One of the usual highlights of the Emmys is seeing all the fashion as the top celebs of the year hit the red carpet in their full glam looks. But this year, nothing was usual. The Emmy Awards held a socially distanced ceremony Sunday night, which included a lot of video conferencing as celebs participated from their homes. And since there was no red carpet, no rubbing elbows with other A-listers, and no accepting awards on the big stage, many celebs opted for being as cozy and comfy as possible — by showing up in their PJs.
Rachel Brosnahan, who stars in last year’s big winner, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, rocked one of the best looks of the night: navy and purple colorblock pajamas, with matching looks for her husband and two dogs.
One of our favorites was Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve star Sandra Oh, who shared her look as she was getting ready for the big show: Fancy earrings, but paired with a messy bun and striped PJs. Otherwise known as our signature look for quarantine Zoom calls.
Jennifer Aniston also came to slay, not only rocking a very comfortable looking robe for the Emmys, but sipping her champagne through a face mask. Self care goals? We think yes.
Insecure star Yvonne Orji may have worn a gorgeous red gown during the Emmys ceremony itself, but she also let us in on her pre-show look: An adorable green PJ set with fuzzy slippers.
And speaking of fuzzy slippers, no one rocked them as hard as Reese Witherspoon who decided they were the perfect accessory for her Emmys dress. TBH, she’s not wrong.
Mark Duplass also showed up ready to enjoy the ceremony in both style and comfort, pairing his plaid pajamas with a cozy robe.
Octavia Spencer was another star who rocked her robe at this year’s Emmys, and if you ask us, sipping wine in PJs might just be the look of 2020.
The Good Place‘s D’Arcy Carden shared a cozy Instagram story with her husband before the Emmys, rocking her PJs on the couch and looking fully relaxed, as stars should be before one of the biggest nights of the year.
And her co-star, Jameela Jamil, celebrated spending the Emmys with “no bra,” “no heels,” and “NO PROBLEMS.”
Even when social distancing is no longer a thing, can we turn the Emmys into a yearly, celebrity pajama party? We’d be here for it, and something tells us they would be too.
