A Woman Got Into A Car Crash After Seeing A Spider
A woman crashed her car when she spotted a spider inside her vehicle
Today in horrible and fully relatable news, a woman was driving in Cairo, New York when she spotted a spider, panicked, and crashed her car. Thankfully, she’s okay and is being treated for a leg injury but her scary experience is definitely an excellent heads up for every single driver with a fear of furry creatures.
Cairo’s police department took to Facebook to share the woman’s story and offer a cautionary message to other drivers. Unsurprisingly, the police department noted, this was not the first time that there’s been an accident involving an unwanted animal presence in the car.
“After investigating today’s crash on Silver Spur Road we feel it necessary to bring up a contributing factor that is not covered too often,” they wrote in a post. “It is believed that the operator of the vehicle noticed a SPIDER in the drivers area with her as she was driving. The operator panicked and crashed suffering a leg injury from the crash.” If you need even further proof of how panicked the driver was, please just take a look at the photos below:
Okay so what should you do if you spot an animal that brings you a large amount of fear, panic, sweat, and tears while driving? Because, after all, very, very few of us are going to welcome of the presence of a furry intruder in our cars.
“We know that it is easier for some drivers than others but PLEASE, try to teach new drivers and yourselves to overcome the fear and pull over to a safe place,” the police noted. “Lives depend on it.”
The Facebook post pulled in more than 100 likes and dozens of comments, many of which were deeply sympathetic to the terrified driver. Turns out, lots and lots of people have been there and completely felt the woman’s pain.
“I almost did the same thing luckily I was where I could pull over,” Susan Dayton wrote. “It was in my blouse I never tore a blouse off faster, my husband was with me and he’s yelling What are you doing?? I’m screaming spider. Anyway it happens and until it happens to you you can’t say you wouldn’t do that. I am hoping the lady recovers.”
Already getting nightmares? Cool, me too. And it wasn’t just spiders that freak people out. Wasps and snakes also got some special shout-outs. Basically, we’re all in the same very horrified, very arachnophobic boat.
“I have panicked with a spider that came down in front of me, thankfully I didn’t crash,” Sandy DeThomas Murphy commented. “My daughters car, mice found their way in, Now my big fear is a mouse running over me while driving – hoping it never happens! Hope she’ll be ok.”
The best takeaway from this whole spider/car crash incident? “For safety measures should probably burn the car too. Just to make sure it’s really dead,” Amanda Storm suggested in her Facebook comment.
Yup, yup, yup. Amen to all of that.
