Armie Hammer recently faced a ton of backlash after posting a video of his son sucking on his toe, and his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, has something to say about it.

Let’s get real: kids are pretty gross. It doesn’t matter how old they are, their gender or even if they are pretty well behaved. No, unless your kid is an anomaly, there will come a time when they do something beyond cringe-worthy — possibly puke-a-little-in-your-mouth gross.

Armie Hammer’s two-year-old son Ford took his famous father’s foot, placed his toes in his little mouth and started sucking. For whatever reason, Hammer decided to film the little incident, sharing it with 1.2 million fans and followers.

Instead of being amused and laughing it off as #hilariousthingskidsdo, the video went viral in a not-so-good way. It sparked some major backlash and nasty comments from the people in the world who feel the need leave nasty comments on other people’s social media (aka, trolls). Instead of letting the whole thing blow over, Hammer’s wife, Elizabeth Chambers, has issued a statement: chill the heck out and back off.

In the Instagram story shared over the weekend, which Hammer quickly deleted, his son is seen sucking his toe. “This happened for a solid 7 minutes,” he captioned the clip with the hashtag, “#Footfetishonfleek.” A woman’s voice can be heard in the background, laughingly exclaiming “This is not normal!” Again, do your kids do normal things? Because mine totally don’t.

But yeah, people had a lot to say about the incident. And unfortunately, not much of it was very nice. Some simply thought it was gross. Others claimed it was child abuse (um, okay?) and many slammed Hammer’s parenting methods.

Somewhere along the line, Hammer’s wife got fed up with the nastiness and interjected. Per TMZ, in response to someone on Instagram, she wrote … “it wasn’t seven minutes…more like five seconds.” She went on to say, “Our son likes to play with people’s feet and I put the video on our family stream because this phase is an ongoing joke. Sharing the video on Instagram was def not the best move on A’s part, but I can assure you that our children’s safety and well-being is always our first priority.”

So in case you were concerned, you do not need to contact child services — it’s all good.

This isn’t the first episode of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Whose Kids Do Gross Things.” A number of stars have been totally candid about the not-so-pleasant quirks of their own kids. For instance, Kristen Bell revealed that her kids gave her butt worms. Scarlett Johansson? Her kids pooped all over the floor once — and the wall! Kim Kardashian’s kids may wear designer clothes that cost more than your mortgage, but her kids like to stick their toothbrushes in the toilet and then brush their teeth with them.

Basically, if you can’t deal with grossness, you should probably avoid having kids. And maybe try incorporating a sense of humor into your lifestyle.
