Fresh Off The Boat

More than just a ‘90s-set sitcom, Fresh Off The Boat was also an immigrant story and a love letter to ‘90s hip-hop. If you haven’t watched the colorful, well-cast, and beautifully written show, you’re seriously missing out.

Derry Girls

Set in Northern Ireland during The Troubles of the 1990s, you’d expect Derry Girls to be anything but funny. However, it’s absolutely hilarious. And, yes, the music and fashion are top-notch.

Netflix

Pose

Technically, this Ryan Murphy powerhouse of a show starts in the late ‘80s. But it quickly takes viewers into the ‘90s and touches on what life was really like in New York City then, diving into ball culture, the arts scene, and the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Also: Billy Porter.

Schooled

Catch up with one of your favorite characters from The Goldbergs and follow Lainey Lewis when she returns to Jenkinstown to teach at her old school and navigate life in the ‘90s post-failed relationship and lofty musical aspirations.

Everything Sucks

The A/V Nerds are clashing hard with the drama nerds in the Oregon high school from Everything Sucks. But, let’s face it, that’s a ‘90s clash that spanned the entire country.

October Road

When writer Nick returns home after years away, he discovers he left behind more than memories. While most of the show takes place in the ‘00s, the ‘90s flashbacks are so perfectly done that it deserves a mention.

ABC

My So-Called Life

This show actually aired in the ‘90s, so of course the wardrobe, scenery, and music are all full of nostalgia now. This angsty, wonderful coming-of-age story gave us so many amazing stars, too.

ABC

Dawson’s Creek

While this teen drama lasted well into the ‘00s, there’s no denying the stranglehold it had on all of us from its very beginning in ‘98. Baggy shirts, frumpy clothes, solid ‘90s jams. This throwback is... da bomb.

Columbia Tristar/Everett Collection

Saved By The Bell

If you were a ‘90s kid, only one question mattered: Slater or Zack? The fashion is deeply rooted in the ‘90s, but the true star of the show was the dancing. Ohhhh, the dancing.

NBC

Yellowjackets

Not only has Yellowjackets brought ‘90s “it girl” Christina Ricci back into the limelight, but it also flashes back to some wonderful ‘90s-set moments. This thriller is a completely different vibe — and is a must-see.
