Scary Mommy TV/Movie Viewing Parties?

I was thinking every Friday night at 9/10PM EST we could have a TV episode or movie viewing party. We can start a thread and watch the whatever it was we chose, together. I think it could be a lot of fun. We could also hang in the chat room, or a chat room, but it might be nice to have the thread to look back on.

I think it would be best if it's something available streaming, or that most everybody owns on DVD or is willing to rent.

I'd love to start with Firefly. If someone doesn't have the DVDs, it's on Netflix and Hulu+.

First episode tomorrow night? Not first episode by air date, first episode as intended. "Serenity" (*not* Serenity the movie)

9 or 10 eastern standard time?

My hub is teasing me that this viewing party is a secret code for making sure all husbands don't get laid on a certain day at a certain time.... I'm never inviting him to join in anything again!!!! Lol

I'll probably be in and out tomorrow, since I have to bake two double-decker sheet cakes for DS's birthday party this weekend.

Man, I'm so lame I don't even know what "Firefly" is
    :-B
The only things I watch on a regular basis (besides Go Diego, Go and Spongebob) is The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.

    @shannahbanana - do you have Netflix or Hulu+ ?

I got one vote for 9PM, so we'll try that this time.

timeanddate.com has a time zone converter

    9PM EST/ 8PM CMT/ 7PM MST/ 6PM PST / 2AM GMT

I'm thinking I'll start a thread to announce/ arrange each viewing party, but a chat room is going to work better for timely interaction.

    @curious - I don't think you've watched Firefly, are you interested/available?

@shannahbanana - hulu+ is a paid subscription. I think you can get a free month trial of either Netflix or Hulu+.

OK, this is what we've got so far for suggestions:

    Clue
    Doctor Who
    Arrested Development
    The Guild
The Tick (live action is on Netflix)
    Archer
    Sherlock
    Spinal Tap
    Futurama
    A Fish Called Wanda
    A Mighty Wind
    The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
    Whale Rider
    Clueless
    Tucker & Dale versus Evil
    Donnie Darko
North & South (Elizabeth Gaskell *not* John Jakes civil war novel)
    Last Holiday
    The Perfect Host
    Four Rooms
The Producers (Matthew Broderick & Nathan Lane)
    Gosford Park
    Ondine
    The Usual Suspects
    Cold Comfort Farm
    Jekyll
    Labyrinth

Some are not available for streaming at this time (that can change). Some are TV shows, and we probably want to pick certain episodes. Please keep in mind that the entire Firefly series was only 14 episodes and we started watching it in mid-November.

    The Empty Child
    The Doctor Dances

    Ten
    The Girl in the Fireplace
    Blink
    Silence in the Library
    Forest of the Dead

    The Eleventh Hour
    The Beast Below
    The Time of Angels
    Flesh and Stone

I'm not sure if it's streaming right now on Netflix,  but I'd like to add Scott Pilgrim vs the World to the list if it does come up streaming (can't remember our Netflix password and I'm at work where it's not saved).

I just found out that there's an 80s night at a local club on 4/5 and I desperately want to bust out the hair crimper and blue mascara and dance my ass off. Can we reschedule Clerks for 4/12 instead?

ETA @Gingersnap - forgot to tag our glorious organizer

@penny - sure, we can reschedule that! (Sorry I missed the tag.)
